Complete Device Lifecycle Management Services
Combining sustainable mobile device strategies with market-leading sourcing, logistics, project management and in-life support.

About the Service
In the planning phase we always start by initially challenging the need for new devices before addressing the optimum ways to deploy, manage and finance those devices.
Using data driven insights, we support IT teams to clarify requirements and remove any unnecessary device investment, before we move to fully documenting and testing all of the deployment, staging and preparation processes. Ensuring that devices can be effectively and consistently delivered to your users and business.
Our Device Lifecycle Management services offer a wide range of delivery options that can be combined to support a range of deployments.
Our delivery options range from courier delivery to remote workers, through to fully branded VIP white glove and pop up “tech bar” options for on-site device distribution.
Traditionally, businesses have either purchased their devices outright or used “mobile network tech funds” when financing devices.
Today it’s critical to understand not only the pros and cons of these models, but to also review how leasing, rental and subscription models can benefit your business.
Utelize can guide your business through the different models and options to ensure your devices are effectively financed.
Managing end-user device orders, replacements and repairs requires well tested processes and resources to be in place to ensure a quick response and to limit downtime for users.
To provide a more responsive service, we will typically hold an assigned “buffer” stock of fully prepared devices at our depot for your business, to exclusively fulfil your orders and to ensure your users are back up and running as quickly as possible.
To free up your IT resource, we can also co-ordinate directly with the end user to arrange replacements and where appropriate field based repairs.
As part of Device Lifecycle Management services, your business will automatically have access to our device sourcing service.
With IT supply chain issues being a major factor for all businesses since 2020, it’s never been more important to plan for device needs and to have access to a wide range of sourcing options.
With Utelize we work with over ten different distributors and specialist resellers to help our customers to source the devices they need; and as part of our own sustainability programme we also fully carbon offset every smartphone and tablet that we sell.
Alternatively our customers are welcome to source devices separately and simply deliver these to us for preparation.
Whether we are project managing a large device refresh programme or supporting ad-hoc device orders, we record the full inventory of your devices in our Inview Mobile platform, including device supply and warranty information as well as history relating to replacement and repairs.
Inview Mobile also provides real time visibility of Buffer Stock and can also be used to raise device orders and service requests.
As part of the service we can also cross reference inventory data against your MDM exports to ensure user information is accurately allocated against devices.
With our tailored service we can prepare your mobile devices to any specification or build required, enabling your business to efficiently deliver “ready to use” devices to your users, along with any accessories and supporting information.
Our service can also include end-user remote training videos and communications to help them with setting up their devices where zero touch enrolment technologies like Apple Business Manager are used.
When devices are no longer required by a user, Utelize can support the recycling or restocking of the device back to the buffer stock.
All devices have a certified data wipe performed and where restocking is requested we also complete functionality testing and cleansing.
Devices for recycling (typically based on agreed criteria) can either be sold to our certified recyclers or your own preferred recycler where required.
We also operate a device gifting programme, where funds raised from the sale of old devices is 100% gifted to our Solar Learning Labs Programme with ComputerAid and Dell Technologies, which builds solar powered classrooms and community hubs in the poorest areas of the world.
Devices for restocking (based on criteria linked to device model, condition and age) shall be data wiped, surface cleaned and buffed and shall then be packaged with a new charger, cable and agreed accessories into the Buffer Stock.

A sustainable approach to Device Lifecycle Management that doesn’t cost the earth
Most businesses take a “one size fits all” approach to providing mobile devices and services that often hides significant wasted investment on technology that simply isn’t needed or used.
Our simple, but effective three step process to more sustainable mobility can help your business to be more environmentally friendly and save money.
As part of our service we offer a no-charge device strategy review and mobile usage analysis. Helping our customers to better understand what technologies their users really use and need, and ultimately avoiding wasted investment in unused or unwanted devices.
Secondly, when it comes to new technology investments, we are committed to fully offsetting the carbon equivalent (C02e) emissions of any devices that we supply. Enabling our customers to be carbon neutral on their device investments within the typical 3 year lifetime of a device.
Finally, through our Solar Community Hubs Programme, our customers can securely gift their old and unwanted devices to help close the digital divide and change lives through the building of amazing digital community hubs in the developing world.
Device Lifecyle Management is just one of the ways we help our customers
- Reducing Carbon Footprint
- Releasing IT Resources
- Releasing IT Budget
- Improving Productivity
- Enhancing End-User Experience
Put simply, most large organisations buy more mobile devices than they need or use and few effectively recycle end of life devices in a sustainable or impactful way.
Sustainability starts with your mobility strategy. Understanding how your people use their devices, challenging and qualifying the real need for corporate investment into smartphones and reviewing how your business needs are likely to change as we adapt to video first communication and new technologies like 5G.
By providing data-driven insights and independent strategy advice, we can help your business to achieve its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments, whilst also ensuring you deliver the right technologies to enable your users to work effectively and securely wherever they are located.
With hybrid office and home working, IT teams have never been under more pressure to deliver services and support than they are today.
At Utelize, we help to release IT resource for higher priority and more strategic projects by taking care of the day to day administration of mobile connectivity and devices.
Our specialist helpdesk team and device depot can work as an extension of your own IT team, managing device orders & preparation, new user requests, repairs and upgrades as well as any mobile network administration required to keep users connected.
Mobile devices and connectivity are one of the least controlled elements of most corporate IT budgets, however complex contracts, billing and tariffs often mean that significant overspending is hidden from view. For many large enterprise customers, this can often mean excess six-figure IT costs, that can be targeted for reinvestment.
At Utelize, we take an independent data-driven approach to helping our customers truly understand how they use their mobile devices and network services. Which in turn helps to better inform future IT strategy and ensures that IT leaders achieve increased value for money from their technology investments.
We then use these insights to guide IT leaders through our proven methodology, which helps to release significant IT budget for reinvestment whilst also highlighting ways to streamline mobility support processes and improve business productivity.
In large businesses, there's no perfect "one size fits all" model when it comes to creating the right mobile device and connectivity strategy. Put simply, different users and roles require different approaches to finding the right device model and network services.
Over the last few years, new ways of working have dramatically changed the way the users engage with their corporate devices, and with many businesses holding back device refresh projects, now is the ideal time to challenge how your organisation should invest in and deploy mobile technologies.
Our data-driven methodology will help you assess the benefits of Corporate vs BYOD device models and our independent team will guide you through the different technologies that businesses like yours are using to improve productivity and end-user experience for the different users in your organisation.
Each of your business end-users will have different requirements and usage profiles when it comes to mobility. For some, a corporate device is their direct link to all aspects of their business and often personal lives; whilst for others the corporate device is rarely used and of limited or no value to the user.
Deploying IT budget effectively means understanding what technologies and services can be best deployed and supported to meet the needs of these varied users.
Utelize's independent approach and methodology will help your business to develop a mobility strategy that's fit for modern working practices. Delivering technology that is tailored to user requirements, ensuring investment is not wasted and that your IT security and compliance requirements are maintained at all times.
