Celebrating our Customers, Partners & Teams Impact with Computer Aid

At Utelize Mobile, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of IT. We achieve this by helping organisations reduce consumption, reuse and refurbish devices, and, most importantly, recycle them securely.

This commitment made partnering with Computer Aid an easy decision. The partnership enables us to provide secure and sustainable device recycling while supporting an innovative and important cause.

Today, we are celebrating passing the £200,000 fundraising mark and the ongoing work Computer Aid carries out in communities such as Mankosi in the Eastern Cape and Xitlhelani in Limpopo, South Africa.

Why we support Computer Aid

Computer Aid describes its mission as:

“Bridging the digital divide and using digital technologies to help overcome disadvantage, and to do so in environmentally friendly ways.”

It works towards this mission by building Solar Community Hubs: robust computer labs housed in converted shipping containers and powered by solar energy. These self-sufficient facilities can be deployed quickly, operate in remote locations and provide access to learning, employment opportunities and essential community services.

We believe this mission closely aligns with our own values. It also enables us to support disadvantaged communities where access to computers and the internet cannot be taken for granted.

The hubs provide local people with opportunities to develop basic computer skills, create CVs, complete university and scholarship applications, and access career guidance.

A kind word of recognition

We are extremely grateful to have received this kind message from the team at Computer Aid:
“Congratulations to Utelize on reaching an amazing £200,000 raised in support of Computer Aid’s work. Thanks to your help, we have been able to continue and expand our activities, bridge the digital divide and make a positive difference to more people. We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership and can’t wait to see what we achieve together next.”

Keeping the momentum going

Reaching this milestone reflects the generosity of our customers and partners, as well as the hard work and dedication of our internal teams.

However, there is still more to accomplish. Our ultimate goal is to raise £500,000, and reaching the £200,000 milestone represents significant progress towards that target.

We would like to thank everyone who has made this possible and look forward to continuing our work with Computer Aid and supporting its mission in the years ahead.
